4th class Decomposition "Science Blast" Project
4th class are doing phenomenal work on the Picker Pals initiative. Picker Pals gives young people the tools and positive motivation to develop stewardship of their local environments. Taking it in turns, children take home the Picker Pack and lead their family on a litter-picking adventure in their local area. Returning to school, the children tell their classmates and school community about their actions, completing their Picker Pals reports. However, they wanted to make the community aware of how much rubbish they are picking up and how it is so bad for biodiversity. They investigated the rubbish, researched its decompostion properties, surveyed classes in the school, analysed their results and presented their findings on a wonderful presentation board and virtually to a Science Blast judge.
