Charity Work in 3rd & 4th class
World Cup fever enveloped the school at the end of last year. In Mrs. O’Donovan’s 3rd & 4th class each child drew a team for the World Cup which they researched and followed for the tournament. The class decided to bring in a few items of food to donate to an agreed charity. Colum Coomey had the winning team and he chose a local charity for their donation. Clonakilty Meals on Wheels was the chosen benefactor. Leila Rees and Tom Connolly, 2nd & 3rd place respectively, also donated their hampers. Norma O’Sullivan and Bernie Harrington kindly visited our school on our last day in December and gladly accepted the children’s donations. Well done to all the children in 3rd & 4th class, Teresa O’Donovan, Helen Crowley and Ann Marie O’Driscoll for helping the class coordinate this very thoughtful project.
