Mrs Gleeson and her 6th class travelled to Dublin on January 10th 2019 to present their project "Is it possible to charge a phone using exercise?" to the judges of The Primary Fair @ BT Young Scientist.
They continued to work on their project and then presented "What muscles are used to charge a phone (the renewable way)?" to Science Blast in Limerick in May 2019. The judges were extremely impressed with the project.
“Really good idea to incorporate another investigation into your project on renewable energy to see what muscles are used for cycle-powered phone charging. Good methodology for having 5 boys & 5 girls included in the investigation, while keeping the conditions the same for each person. Excellent visual representation of the muscles involved and in particular really great use of coding to create a video representation of the muscles engaged in cycling. Overall really great project, very well presented by the students so well done to all involved!”
