"Learn at School, Grow at Home " Food Growing Project & Celebration 2022
We have successfully run a food growing project over the past number of years called “Learn at School, Grow at Home”. The aim of this project is to show Senior Infant pupils and their families how easy and fun it is to grow food at home. At school, each child is shown how to set up a mini-garden and how to sow and grow potatoes, onions, carrots and radishes.
It is lovely to see the photos of the children growing in their gardens at home. Well done to the Senior Infants & their families.
On Friday June 10th, Senior Infants enjoyed the fruits of their labour by having a Food Celebration Morning. They enjoyed carrot sticks, homemade chips, homemade onion rings, radish, rhubarb crumble, beetroot, chocolate buns and homemade elderflower cordial. All the produce was grown at school!
Thanks to Valerie and Yvonne for preparing a wonderful feast for Senior Infants.
