Wild Work Programme
Pupils from Junior Infants to 4th class had the opportunity to participate in the Wild Work Initiative this week with Cliff.
The Wild Work Programme aims to enable communities and empower schools to undertake ambitious programmes that will affect real change in habits and attitudes towards the environment. The initiative is one of the largest biodiversity training programmes in Ireland. Sustainability is core to their work and the aim is to make schools and communities more green in their approach.
They encourage learning in wild spaces and Cliff brought the classes out in to nature, where the children were able to learn through seeing, touching and interacting with the natural world. The pupils were enabled to experience an outdoor learning setting that inspired practical actions and they learned how nature can help people help nature and explore how our small actions can make a big difference to wild places and schools.
